It’s been almost four months, since I have joined Bookworm full time and so far up till now, it has been an enriching journey working in this organization. Being a part of Libraries in School (LiS) is one among the enriching journey I have ever come across. The reason I am saying this because I am currently part of this wonderful Bookworm program called “Mobile Outreach Program” which is the heart and soul of Bookworm and is also a stepping stone for me in Bookworm and now being another part of Bookworm Program which is LiS is a dream come true. Honestly, I enjoy a lot in working in LiS. I get to see the diverse group of children who come from different part of area. Meeting them and also engaging with them is a good learning experience which I ever had. Through stories getting to know their stories is very rich experience. Indeed, working in LiS is not a joke. One really has to plan properly to lead in the class room so that you can get a productive session. The special part of LiS just like MOP is that you get to meet different kinds of children of different background. Some of them are indeed naughty but some them are very nice.
Another essential part of LiS is telling stories to the children. Through this programme, I got a wonderful opportunity to know and to learn the different kinds of stories. One thing that Bookworm is very special is because it has this lovely collection of children story book. Reading stories to the children and then getting the children familiarize with the story, building context with the children, getting their rich living experience is very extraordinary and it is my best part. For that I am the living lucky person to get that.
So far I can see that children are really benefiting the programme. This programme allows their voice to heard and explore their imagination and this is beyond compare with anything. This programme also allows children to take stories books to home and this bring smile to the children’s face. I could almost see to it.
And for that I really like to thank Bookworm for making this happen. What I really I like to say before I sum up is that I like what I am doing and I like working in LiS 🙂
