Over the years, Bookworm’s resources have been expanding gently to encompass a small, but wonderfully eclectic collection of books for mature readers. We are currently in the process of expanding this collection further, and are looking for recommendations, ideas, and most importantly, for readers!
Parallel to this, we are involved in an on-going attempt to draw out, titillate by literary means, and engage with all those interested in the Arts, in creative pursuits, and in a critically sensitive consumption of culture, across all age-groups.
This is to invite you all, formally, to the Library, and to a series of events that we will be holding:
The Film Club will open on the 12th of August, with a screening of ‘Freedom Writers‘, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Library. Two more films will be screened, ‘Jumping Over Puddles‘ and ‘Wall-E‘, later in the month. Film Club will involve an intensive discussion of the film texts, with a segment on Film Production- a practice hitherto uncommon for Film Clubs.
Through the Looking-Glass, on the 19th of August, at 4 p.m.: A community-centric theatre workshop, which will carry out a basic introduction to the madness and gladness of theatre practice in everyday life.
Slam Poetry: 21st August, 4 p.m.: An introductory workshop on performance poetry, that will explore the form of poetry for performance, and the work of certain performance poets. It willinclude, as well, a space to attempt at writing together, or for a group.
