Act Out, a twelve week acting workshop by Director Rajyashree Dutt concluded yesterday at Bookworm with the group performing two plays; Narahari Das and Captain Bumble.
As Bookworm brings the curtain down on Act Out for 2016, we are extremely grateful to Raj… or Aunty Raj as the children call her for bringing drama to the library. We feel it is where performative acts of all kinds must reside and where texts come alive. Every Tuesday the half-red house that is Bookworm resounded with voices and drama as the children acted out growing in confidence and joy.
We must also thank this small group of parents who recognise spaces of learning and empowerment that come within libraries and who never failed to drop off –pick up and participate in Act Out.
We loved Tuesdays this past quarter and look forward to Act Out in the 2017 season. Until then, watch our actors here…
