‘Turning up the heat’ cannot have been more apt for the 13th, 14th & 15th of May in Bookworm. Outside, the mercury is rising and the humidity spiking; and inside, the thermostat is being set to 200 degrees, and the things are being put on the double boiler!
It’s the 3 day cooking segment; Cook with a Book; of summer camp and the chef for the session, Jeanne, is prepared and set to wow the kids and whip up a storm!
Aprons on, ready, set, COOK!
And they were off!
In the course of the 3 days, the kids got hands on with every task!
They whisked!
They Talked and listened!
And ofcourse they tasted…but only surreptitiously when the camera was not around!
And they ooooh and ahhhhhhd everytime the finished product came out of the oven!
The library smells heavenly…..and there are happy children reading books and talking. What better way to beat the heat eh?!
