Day 3 of Summer Workshops….And we’re off to the market!
Shopping lists in hand and a plan of action for the ingredients in mind….we set off!
“Does anyone know what that is??”
“Have you seen this before?”
“Teacher! Vegetables! There are tomatoes!”
“Yes darling, vegetables! Do you like vegetables?”
“Here! Here! We can get everything we need here!”
“See the pineapple! So poky it is no?!”
“Dhruv, wait! We don’t have to buy the oranges! Their team has to buy oranges!”
And we’re back in the library!
A few minutes to cool off and play a game of fruit and vegetable memory!
” I got it! I got it! Teacher I got the pair!”
” Come on! Come on! Quickly!”
A quiet hush….and the story book is revealed!
It takes us on a walk through the sights, sounds, smells and experiences in a market.
We’ve just had some of these experiences ourselves!
“Okay! So now we’ve talked the talk, we’ve walked the walk….it’s time to get hands on!”
And so they did!
And they were happy!
So happy….that they danced around waving their veggie crafts in the air singing the market song we’d learned earlier.
Fruit kebab anyone? 🙂
