Saturday morning is here again and this time I didn’t have anything to be afraid of. Elaine was here
Most of the little ones in our group didn’t think of anything they were afraid of.
Except Dhairya who told us about the “goon goon” that haunts him at night.
Are there any such things as monsters? “NO!” they answered together. “There’s only people in masks”, explained Sara.
And with that Elaine began reading Jan Pieńkwoski’s pop out book- Little Monsters.
They little ones were in squeals of laughter at each monster that came up as every page turned.
The kiddies sang a monster song and acted like monsters, made spooky boos at each other and raced upstairs as fast as they could with Elaine monster in pursuit of them.
Upstairs…
Monster biscuits were gobbled up by the little monsters who made them..
Little Monsters hand printed green monsters and scared each other with creepy green hands, all in good humour of course…
And last but not least, our favourite little monsters painted they’re very own monster cups to drink out of when they want a recharge!
As I waved them goodbye, I realised that these little ones are more grown up than they know. They’re braver than I am.
And that’s what I learned. Chin up, what am I afraid of? Nothing!
