An Open Free library rolled into the Panjim garden, Garcia d’Orta yesterday evening at 8. 00 pm.
Book Stop, a collaborative initiative of many is part of the larger vision for Panjim the Open Library. Beautifully and thoughtfully designed shelves by designers at Shirk Shop made Book Stop a reality. Book Stop were originally conceptualised by Bookworm at a meeting in the Red House 3 years ago, triggered by a friend who was with the team at the time. We shared a concept note with the visionary Commissioner of Panaji and lay low, hoping that the Universe would conspire to make it happen. It did !
Panjim First, a forward thinking group of businessmen made an investment in the idea, the infrastructure and the reality of Book Stop.
They are here ! The present set of Book Stop will be managed and maintained by Bookworm with a lot of support from friends and well wishers. We look forward as we roll in spaces and places to read, imagine and learn.
