A merry, merry way to start May

May Day this year will ring out not with calls for help but with cries of excitement as children try to piece together the clues in an exciting mystery-solving game.

‘On the Trail of the Chhuchhunder’ is one of the Fundoo Fundas games devised by author and quizmaster Aniruddha Sen Gupta as an offshoot to his Fundoo 4 series of adventure novels for children. It requires participants to solve a series of clues left behind by a sinister criminal, to figure out where he’s going to strike next.

This event, organised by Bookworm, is to be held on May 1st at the Municipal Garden in Panjim. The game is for children aged 9 to 14, though younger kids can participate by teaming up with older ones or their parents. As numbers are limited, register early (by e-mailing mail@bookwormgoa.in or calling 9823222665 or 2451233).

‘On the Trail of the Chuchhunder’ is but one of the various reading-oriented activities being presented on the day. Under the banner of ‘Reading in the Park’, the evening will also feature ‘Stories with Grandparents’, ‘Painting stories’ community art with Harshada & Eva and Book Fair.

The entire hoop-la, organised with the support of the Corporation of the City of Panjim, is free and open to all. What better way to spend the first day of May?
